The ginkgo forest in Xitou Nature Education Area was planted in the 10th year of the Republic of China (1921), making it the oldest ginkgo forest in Taiwan. Covering an area of 0.2 hectares, it has around 70 trees. With the recent cooling weather, the ginkgo leaves have started to take on a brilliant golden hue. The coming week offers the best time to admire them, and they will begin shedding gradually in about two weeks. There's no need to travel abroad to enjoy the breathtaking sight of golden ginkgos—now is the perfect time.
