The design competition for Taiwan’s new gateway — Taoyuan Airport’s Terminal 3 — has unveiled its results

To address the increasing volume of air passengers, Taoyuan Airport launched an international design competition for its Terminal 3 in June this year, inviting terminal design experts from around the world to take part. The final results of the competition were officially unveiled on October 30th!

The second-phase finals of the international design competition for Taoyuan Airport Corporation’s Terminal 3 area saw the top prize awarded to an elite team comprising the renowned Taiwanese firm CECI, UK-based Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, Ove Arup and Partners Hong Kong Limited, and the local firm Chungmai Architects. Their innovative and outstanding planning and design concepts, along with highly efficient circulation layouts, particularly moved the judges with their dynamic interior experience that adapts to user flow. The winning model of the Terminal 3 international design competition was also unveiled to the public for the first time after much anticipation.
