Star Wars global craze: Japanese railway launches Star Wars-themed train

The Star Wars movie hasn’t even been released yet, but it has already launched massive promotional campaigns worldwide, sparking discussions. Japan’s Nankai Electric Railway’s Kansai Airport Express “Rapi:t” has also teamed up with the Star Wars film *Star Wars: The Force Awakens* to launch the collaborative train “Rapi:t × Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” which will run from late November until May 2016, much to the anticipation of Star Wars fans.

The Star Wars movie and Kansai Nankai Electric Railway have collaborated to redesign the airport express train Rapi:t, which runs between Kansai Airport and Namba. Leveraging the image of Rapi:t as a connector to the world via Kansai International Airport, the special design is based on the shared concepts of “travel” and “adventure” found in both the film *Star Wars: The Force Awakens* and the Rapi:t service. The train body has been changed from its original deep blue to a cosmic black, and characters from the movie can be seen on the exterior. The interior of the cars has also been color-coordinated with the movie theme and features planet-themed decorations of characters.The collaborative train is expected to run from November 21 until May 8, 2016.Star Wars fans visiting Japan should keep an eye out for it.
