The 2015 Sigou Sightseeing Hot Spring Festival will run from November 14. This year, Pingtung County Government has chosen the theme “Happiness in the Springs, Cherished Moments Lasting Forever,” combining the hot springs of Sigou in Checheng Township and Xuhai in Mudan Township. The event features sports events such as running and cycling, aiming to let visitors enjoy the embrace of lush forests and the strong winds of the Hengchun Peninsula, then soak in the comforting “beauty springs” to experience warmth and happiness.

This year’s Sigou Hot Spring Festival emphasizes “sports—hot spring soaking—prayer—stress relief,” making exercise and soaking a new concept in lifestyle travel. Additionally, a shrine area has been added in the Hot Spring Park this year, featuring a statue of the Medicine Buddha. During the festival, free prayer slips are available for visitors to hang in the shrine area. For a small cleaning fee of just NT$50, visitors can rent yukata robes and bicycles at the park’s visitor center to leisurely explore Sigou.

Pingtung County Government has also arranged shuttle bus services. From the opening day of the festival (November 14, 2015) to January 30, 2016, every Saturday, Sunday, and national holiday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, buses will transport visitors between Kenting and the Checheng Sigou Hot Spring area. A free shuttle runs approximately every 1–2 hours, allowing tourists visiting Kenting to easily reach Sigou Hot Springs.

In addition, with the weekend water play facilities at Mudan Reservoir open for use, free shuttle buses will also run hourly from Fuan Temple in Checheng to Mudan Reservoir every Saturday, Sunday, and national holiday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM during the same period.
