It's not just the Monster Village—Nantou's new attraction, Momotaro Village, is unveiled

Now when visiting Nantou, you can explore more than just the Monster Village in Xitou. The brand-new themed attraction “Taiwan Film City – Momotaro Village” is also set to officially open on January 29. Covering a vast area of 5.8 hectares, the film city is filled with scenes from the Japanese fairy tale “Momotaro,” including a monster house, a gassho-style village, a Japanese shrine, and streets—realistic settings that make you feel as if you’ve stepped into the story.

This Taiwan Film City located in Zhushan, Nantou, was funded and built by renowned director Feng Xinghua. Having long struggled to find suitable filming locations during productions, he decided to create his own film city, which has since served as a backdrop for numerous dramas and films. Now, Momotaro Village has been completed and will officially open to the public on January 29. The village features playful scenes, with themes such as streets, rivers, cherry blossom trees, a gassho-style village, and Momotaro’s home—all exuding the charm of a classic Japanese fairy tale. After its opening, be sure to visit Momotaro Village for a pilgrimage and make some memorable discoveries.
