To welcome the arrival of the 2016 Chinese New Year, the Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau has specially curated the “Jubilant Spring Tour in Kaohsiung – Fourfold Joy Celebrating the New Year” 2-day tour itinerary. It includes four major themes: mountain wilderness, ocean, arts and culture, and lantern festivals, connecting popular events and emerging attractions.

The consecutive winter break holidays are filled with the festive atmosphere of celebrating the New Year. The Tourism Bureau has integrated the “Fourfold Joy Celebrating the New Year” 2-day tour itinerary, allowing visitors to freely choose and combine their preferred options.For those who enjoy“mountain wilderness charm,”you can visit Maolin to witness the ecological spectacle of purple crow butterflies in flight, admire the cosmos fields in Meinong and the sunflower seas in Shanlin, try your hand at making paper umbrellas, and savor Hakka pickled mustard greens. Alternatively, choose the “ocean and waterfront” journey to explore exhibitions in the Pier-2 Art Center, stroll through the old streets of Hamasen and Sizihwan, take a ferry to Cijin, visit the viral Rainbow Church, and enjoy the romantic scenery of the setting sun.

In addition, the Kaohsiung Lantern Festival combines the Qishan Lantern Festival, Gangshan Lantern Festival, and Foguangshan Peace Lantern Ceremony, each with its own unique features. During the Spring Festival, you can also go and admire creative lanterns and dazzling fireworks.
