The 2016 New Taipei City Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival will take place on February 11, 14, and 22. This year breaks away from traditional designs, inviting illustrators to create lanterns in a hand-drawn style, enhanced with fingerprint art, to convey warmth and happiness—making it an unmissable annual tourism event.

● Tainan Moon Lake Lantern Festival

The innovative and dreamy Moon Lake Lantern Festival always sparks plenty of discussion. This year’s theme, “Moonlight Treasure Box, Shining Jinqing,” highlights the charm of YanShui, sparkling like a precious box. The lantern area covers the entire Moon Lake Harbor district, featuring a record 57 main lantern installations and attracting 45 domestic and international artists. From now until February 28, visitors can experience this astonishing visual feast.
