The highly popular Monster Ice from Roadside Ice in Taichung, known for its adorable monster-style shaved snow ice, has become a must-try dessert for many visitors to the city. The official Facebook page has announced its expansion north to Taipei, with the anticipated opening of the Civic Boulevard store on March 15. The Roadside Handmade Ice Parlor will also open simultaneously. From March 15 to 24 during the opening period, the first 50 customers each day will receive a commemorative Taipei opening merchandise set, while supplies last.

Located in a renovated old building near the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts in Taichung, Monster Ice from Roadside Ice features a variety of flavors and colors of shaved snow ice, adorned with large candy eyes made from icing and dark chocolate, and finished with Japanese-style plating and toppings to create its signature super-cute monster snow ice. Currently, it has two branches in Taichung—Zhongcun and Wenxin. For its Taipei expansion, it has chosen Civic Boulevard, with the Roadside Handmade Ice Parlor also opening at the same location.
