Stretching approximately 23 kilometers from east to west and up to 10 kilometers from north to south, Phillip Island covers an area of 100 square kilometers. Key attractions include the Penguin Parade, Koala Conservation Centre, Churchill Island Heritage Farm, Antarctic Journey, and Seal Ocean Cruiser Tour. Here, you can immerse yourself in the local ecosystem, and for nature-loving adventurers, the sight of penguins returning home is sure to melt your heart.

Fairy penguins are the smallest species of penguin, known for their deep blue feathers and often called little blue penguins. Phillip Island in Australia is a paradise for observing these wild fairy penguins. They nest in the sand dunes, heading out to sea early in the morning and returning home along fixed routes every evening. Currently, over 30,000 little penguins living on the island make their way back here as the sun sets each day, creating a rare and heartwarming spectacle of penguin homecoming.

Visitors can watch the penguin parade from viewing platforms or boardwalks. As the sun goes down, these tiny penguins “clock off” from the ocean and head home on schedule, waddling along in their chubby, adorable fashion. Every evening at dusk, visitors can sit on the beach under the guidance of staff to enjoy the spectacular sight of the little penguins returning home. The open-air viewing platform accommodates 300 people, while a specially designed 90-meter-long wooden boardwalk and an underground viewing platform for 70 guests offer a 25-meter-long observation window. Here, amidst the serene, stunning, and secluded beach, you can observe the fascinating ecology of the fairy penguins up close.
