This 7-Eleven is no ordinary store — the magical cat mural is super healing

For many foreign tourists, the ability to find 24-hour convenience stores everywhere is a major highlight of traveling in Taiwan. But to locals, convenience stores have long become an everyday sight — aside from minor differences in products and largely similar designs. However, there’s one 7-Eleven in Yunlin that’s full of character and has attracted many visitors.

On Mingde North Road in Douliu City, Yunlin, there’s a uniquely themed 7-Eleven that incorporates mural art, featuring a “Magical Cat House” concept with 3D cat paintings covering the walls inside, making it a local hot spot. The idea for the “Magical Cat House” 7-Eleven originated when the store manager wanted to create a convenience store with a truly distinctive character. After getting company approval, they invited nationally renowned cat mural artist Tian Rongqian to design exclusive cat-themed wall art for the store.
