Chibi Maruko-chan Café Extended with Additional Popular Yonezawa Meat Buns

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Chibi Maruko-chan anime, Fuji TV in Odaiba, Japan launched a limited-time “Chibi Maruko-chan Café” on the first floor of the broadcasting building starting March 21, 2015. Originally planned to operate for only one year until March 21, 2016, the café’s immense popularity led Fuji TV to announce an extension through March 2017. In addition, many new menu items were introduced, among which the “Puffed-Up Yonezawa Meat Buns” are highly anticipated.

Although the “Chibi Maruko-chan Café” wasn’t intended for long-term operation, this year-round, one-year pop-up café didn’t cut any corners when it came to food and decor. The extended run of the Chibi Maruko-chan Café not only retained the original selection of over 20 menu items but also added several new drinks and dishes. In addition to the previously most talked-about Yonezawa Onion Soup made with a whole onion, the café now offers warm Yonezawa Meat Buns, a Hanazawa Latte Art Coffee, along with various character-themed dishes.
