The "2018 Taiwan Lantern Festival in Chiayi" was grandly held on March 2nd, the Lantern Festival. The super cute animal lanterns — a giraffe and a sika deer — also made their way into the mountain fairy-tale castle, the "Zhongpu Visitor Center," adding a new talking point to the already playful visitor center. The adorable and eye-catching appearance of the lanterns attracted visitors to stop and take photos, also helping to build anticipation for the Taiwan Lantern Festival.

Meanwhile, the magenta tabebuia flowers along the nearby Yuanshan Trail are also blooming brilliantly, with their flowery pom-pom-like blossoms in bright pink. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful floral sights here during the day, then head to the visitor center at night to admire the enchanting lanterns, creating a very romantic atmosphere.

To welcome the Lunar New Year and celebrate the Lantern Festival, the Zhongpu Visitor Center of the Siraya National Scenic Area organized a series of events throughout February. On February 3rd, a New Year calligraphy event was held, and there was also a DIY bookmark-making activity where visitors could write down their New Year wishes.

From February 16th (the first day of the lunar year) to February 20th (the fifth day), a New Year coffee sand art DIY event was held, inviting visitors to create festive coffee sand art greeting cards.
