Hualien's Red-Faced Duck Goes on Summer Vacation with Eye-Catching 3D Water Curtain Film

The Hualien County Government is holding the "2016 Red-Faced Duck Fun Summer" event, which kicks off grandly at Liyu Lake from July 2 to August 4. In addition to water dance shows and Red-Faced Duck light performances, there will also be two new shows: a water curtain film "Reflections of the Lotus" and a landscape live-action performance "The Legend of Qilai," offering visitors unique surprises.

"The Legend of Qilai" incorporates elements of Hualien’s landscape and culture. The choreography is adapted from oral legends of Hualien’s indigenous tribes, telling the story of different aboriginal groups living on the Qilai Plain who hunted, farmed, and wove cloth in this vast mountain and water setting, each living their destiny and sharing a tale of love and peace. It is performed daily at 8:00 PM.

The Red-Faced Duck Fun Summer event features five major themes: large-scale Red-Faced Duck installations, daytime water dance shows, Red-Faced Duck light and sound shows, water curtain films, and landscape live-action performances. With stunning light and sound effects and captivating water dances, there are various exciting performances from day to night, showcasing the charm of Hualien’s local culture to visitors.
