These are the five places in Taiwan where you can see SoftBank's Pepper robot

The intelligent robot Pepper, which created a sales sensation in Japan, made its official public debut in Taiwan on July 25, interviewing five major companies. From now on, people in Taiwan will also be able to see Pepper without having to travel all the way to Japan to buy one.

Known as the world's first humanoid robot available for purchase, Pepper was developed by SoftBank and manufactured by Foxconn. Taiwan became the first overseas country after Japan to start selling it. Five companies were the first to use it, and by late September, general consumers can spot Pepper at these five businesses: Asia Pacific Telecom, First Bank, Carrefour, Cathay Life Insurance, and Taishin Bank.

Pepper went on sale in Japan starting June 2015, setting a record of selling out one thousand units per minute on average. It is also now available for corporate leasing in Taiwan; in March 2016, Pepper took on the role of a marketing service representative at SOFTBANK’s smartphone experience store, generating buzz and drawing crowds for hands-on experiences, which will also be available in Taiwan.
