High temperatures across Taiwan as Typhoon Mirinae forms

This year’s third typhoon, “Mirinae,” formed on the 26th in the waters east of Hainan Island. It is currently located about 1,300 kilometers southwest of Eluanbi, with its center having moved away from Hainan Island and continuing to move west-northwest. It poses no direct threat to Taiwan. Those planning to fly to Hainan Island or northern Vietnam in the coming days are advised to check the latest flight information before departure.

Due to the influence of the Pacific High, Taiwan continues to experience high temperatures and hot weather. Temperatures in central and northern regions may reach up to 36°C, while other areas can expect 32–34°C. Please take proper sun protection measures and stay well hydrated to avoid heatstroke. In the afternoon, scattered brief thunderstorms may occur in mountainous areas, areas near mountains, as well as southern and northeastern regions. Stay alert to weather changes, and remember to carry rain gear when going out.
