Step into the fairy tale world with the Little Red Riding Hood Train & Candy House Journey

A large-scale special exhibition jointly created by Taiwanese and Japanese teams, "Little Red Riding Hood ~ Train & Candy House Journey Special Exhibition," officially opened on July 9 at Pier-2 Art Center Warehouse P2 in Kaohsiung. The highly anticipated highlights of the exhibition include the world’s first unveiling of seven brand-new giant Little Red Riding Hood plush dolls, as well as a Little Red Riding Hood figure specially designed for Kaohsiung, wearing a print of the city’s floral emblem, the cotton tree flower. Visitors can admire the manuscripts and works of Japan’s legendary illustrator Katou Shiji, with each uniquely styled and imaginative scene in the exhibition personally hand-drawn by the master himself.

Starting from Little Red Riding Hood pulling her suitcase and meeting everyone on the platform of Kaohsiung Railway Station, follow the storyline of the fairy tale and embark on a train journey through six uniquely themed zones. The exquisite compositions create many cleverly designed scenes: the window sill of the train carriage, the house of the Three Little Pigs, the fountain on a European street, the jumping squares of a fantastical Monopoly game, the Queen of Hearts’ croquet field, the pathway through the Dark Forest... These attract illustration fans to come and explore.

Both flat and three-dimensional materials create six themed zones that blend reality and fantasy—from the platform and carriage, fairy tale forest, European street, magical castle, dark pathway, to the sweet candy house. The vibrant colors and numerous delightful details and corners allow visitors to become companions of Little Red Riding Hood, with the spinner determining whether their next step is opportunity or fate. Only by overcoming various challenges can they join the party in front of the Happy Candy House to celebrate Little Red Riding Hood’s tenth birthday.
