Hsinchu Land Art Festival Transforms Streets into a Photogenic Gallery

The Post-Hsinchu Era Has Arrived!. The back station area is not only being beautified but also infused with art. The "Hsinchu City International Land Art Festival," in conjunction with the launch of the back station transit hub and the completion of sidewalk improvement projects, quietly kicked off its "axis flip" last month. The land art festival, featuring contributions from both domestic and international artists, uses art to decorate the streets and alleys of the back station area, transforming the entire neighborhood into an "art gallery."

The Land Art Festival is curated by the renowned domestic curator Du Zhaoxian, who brings his experience from the artistic street transformation project on Taiwan’s Nanhai Anlu to Hsinchu, offering new perspectives for the country’s land art scene. This is also the first time Hsinchu City has hosted an international land art festival. In the future, the area around the Hsinchu Transit Station will be developed with a "grand park" concept.

Stretching from the back station to the 1916 Creative Park (Hsinchu Park), a total of 15 outdoor installation artworks have been set up, themed around wind, travel, and light and sound. The exhibition runs until July 30 of next year. The artworks are divided into two zones: the back station area is themed "The Journey of the Wind," while the installations around Hsinchu Park carry the theme "Happy Party," echoing the park’s centennial celebration.
