After getting off at Wanggu Station, it takes about a 15-minute walk along the Wanggu Waterfall Hiking Trail to reach the waterfall group. This trail was once part of the historic Wanggu Ancient Trail and has been renovated by New Taipei City’s Tourism and Travel Bureau. It’s perfect for exploring with family, friends, or loved ones. Wanggu Waterfall consists of four cascading levels, with emerald-blue pools beneath the cascades that look like a paradise on earth — definitely worth a stop to admire.

Wanggu Station is the quietest station on the Pingxi branch line, with relatively few passengers getting on or off. Unlike Shifen Waterfall and Pingxi Old Street, which attract many tourists, the beautiful curved railway in front of Wanggu Station is a favorite spot for train enthusiasts to capture the scenery of passing trains. Before heading to the Wanggu Waterfall Hiking Trail from Wanggu Station, you’ll pass by the former Qinghe Coal Mine operation platform — an excellent vantage point for watching trains. Many rail fans specifically come here to wait for trains to pass by.
