Taiwan’s most photogenic cherry blossom spot: Night blossoms in breathtaking bloom

Apart from Taipei’s Eco Park, one of the latest free night cherry blossom viewing spots is Hsinchu Park, where nearly a thousand cherry trees have burst into bloom, making it a popular destination. For the first time, the Hsinchu City Government has installed lighting in the park, and the night blossoms, set against the illuminated backdrop, appear even more delicate and romantic, attracting photography enthusiasts from across the country to capture the day-and-night beauty of the cherry blossoms in Hsinchu City. Some even praise Hsinchu Park as Taiwan’s most photogenic cherry blossom spot.

The Hsinchu City Flower Festival kicked off on March 25. Although it was postponed due to recent cold weather and rain, with rainfall easing and temperatures rising lately, visitors can take their families out during the holidays to enjoy the cherry blossoms in Hsinchu Park. Light pink Kawazu-zakura and peach-colored mountain cherries bloom in alternating splendor. Strolling leisurely beneath the cherry trees feels like being in Japan, leaving visitors amazed by the beauty.

Covering an area of 18 hectares, Hsinchu Park is planted with nearly 30 varieties and over 800 cherry trees, making it a renowned cherry blossom destination in Hsinchu City. It is also the flatland cherry blossom spot nearest to a train station in Taiwan, just a 10-minute walk from Hsinchu Railway Station. Thanks to its convenient transportation, the park attracted 180,000 flower-viewing visitors in just three weeks during last year’s blooming season. This year, the park has added nighttime lighting, giving the cherry blossoms a uniquely enchanting charm after dark. Visitors are welcome to come and admire the blooms during the flower-viewing season (from now until March 19).
