Taipei’s New Floral Wonderland: A Riot of Colorful Cosmos

No need to travel far—urban flower fields have arrived at Taipei’s riverside parks. The cosmos at Zhongzheng Riverside are blooming enthusiastically, with the season lasting until mid-March. Visitors are encouraged to take a holiday trip to enjoy the riverside blooms. In addition to Zhongzheng Riverside, another field of cosmos can be admired at Machangding, while those at Daonan and Rainbow Riverside are nearing the end of their season.

Vibrant cosmos adorn the grasslands of Zhongzheng Riverside, covering an area of 2,300 square meters. The seeds sown this time are multicolored, producing pink, lilac, and white cosmos blooms in dazzling hues. Paired with the scenic beauty of the Xindian River, the view is simply breathtaking.

Cosmos can grow up to one meter tall, swaying gracefully in the breeze under the sunlight, adding an elegant touch to the riverside landscape. To create diverse seasonal scenery, landscape flower fields have been cultivated across riverside parks—from Yanping, Chengmei, Rainbow, Machangding, Daonan to Zhongzheng Riverside Park—the floral displays bloom in succession, wave after wave, keeping beautiful blossoms company throughout the year. As a result, the riverside parks have become popular destinations for leisure outings.

This flower field is located near Zhongzheng Bridge, adjacent to the bike path. Visitors can walk down to the riverside park from under Zhongzheng Bridge, or enter from Machangding Memorial Park and head toward Zhongzheng Bridge to reach the blooms.

Starting from Machangding Memorial Park, you can first admire the cosmos field, then cycle southward to Guting Riverside Park and snap photos under the romantic wedding dress installation art. Reminder: when taking photos, please be considerate—avoid stepping on the flowers so more people can enjoy the display.
