Slogan: Tokyo Tokyo Old meets New
The meaning behind this logo is as follows: the design featuring “Tokyo” in two different fonts visually conveys the city’s image. The Tokyo in Brushstroke font and the Tokyo in Gothic print type represent the unique nature of the city where centuries-old traditions and cutting-edge modern culture coexist.
Tradition is expressed in black ink, while the new Tokyo is depicted in blue, reminiscent of an ever-expanding sky that symbolizes an innovative future. To add vibrancy and charm, the new logo also includes a traditional postage stamp featuring one of Tokyo’s newest sightseeing landmarks: the Shibuya Scramble Crossing.
