Atelier Approprié is a mille-feuille pastry studio with no physical store or official website—pastry is sold exclusively via its fan page, where flavors for ordering are announced every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Items often sell out the moment they’re posted, and to maintain freshness and integrity, Atelier Approprié does not offer delivery. Pick-up is only available at Taipei Da’an MRT Station, with a limit of one set (2 slices) per person—it’s really not easy to get your hands on one！

Each layer of Atelier Approprié’s mille-feuille is thin as paper, and achieving such delicate pastry sheets requires considerable skill. Paired with whipped cream made from Taiwanese tea leaves, Japanese matcha, and cocoa powder, the layers create a perfect balance of texture and taste, melting deliciously on the tongue.

The Xinyi branch recently introduced a seasonal limited “Strawberry Cheese Sweetheart” flavor, made by combining strawberry cheese ice cream with fresh strawberries from Dahu and wrapping them in a warm pineapple bread, then drizzling strawberry jam on top. Only 50 portions are available daily, each priced at NT$150.

Inheriting Japanese flavors, the pineapple bread here is baked fresh—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside—and then filled with ice cream (classic vanilla, matcha, and chocolate flavors). The contrasting hot and cold textures are unique, and now with seasonal strawberries added, it’s pure bliss.

Every winter, Xuan Yuan’s “Double-Layer Strawberry Cake” is a must-have on the list for die-hard strawberry fans, though getting your hands on one means clearing several hurdles！ Xuan Yuan cakes can be pre-ordered online or bought on-site, but the ordering form usually sells out instantly upon release, and pickup can take 3–4 months. Even walk-in buyers face ever-growing queues, with some lining up as early as 4 or 5 AM.

Every winter, Xuan Yuan’s “Double-Layer Strawberry Cake” is definitely one of the most anticipated items on the must-try list for hardcore strawberry lovers—and getting your hands on one is no easy feat. There are two ways to purchase Xuan Yuan cakes: online pre-order and in-store sales. However, once the ordering form is released by the shop, it usually sells out instantly, and you’ll have to wait three to four months just to pick it up. The line for in-store purchases grows more intense with each passing day, with some people even queuing up as early as four or five in the morning.

Xuan Yuan’s popular items include the single-layer “Snow Strawberry Cake,” and the “Double-Layer Strawberry Cake” in original, chocolate, and matcha flavors. Though the ingredients are simple, the use of whole fresh strawberries, refreshing whipped cream, and soft, fluffy sponge cake wins over countless fans—making the long wait well worth it.
