◎ Train enthusiasts, come here now！Xinbeitou Station – the newest highlight attraction

Taipei City Government is actively building a fence-free "Beitou Eco-Museum Park", integrating Xinbeitou Station, Beitou Library, Thermal Valley Museum, and the Geothermal Valley. Among them, the century-old Xinbeitou Train Station was rebuilt and completed in April last year, carrying the fond memories of local residents and also serving as a key destination for train and railway enthusiasts.

◎ Chen Fengxian Carving Museum – A tiny world under a magnifying glass

Chen Fengxian, a micro-carving artist who retired from the Central Engraving and Printing Plant, has devoted himself entirely to artistic creation. He can carve Buddha statues or other objects smaller than 1 millimeter—so tiny they can fit through the eye of a needle. Over the past 30 years, he has accumulated hundreds of works. The "Chen Fengxian Micro-Carving Museum" is located in Xindian District, New Taipei City. It's open to the public for a ticketed visit on Sundays; appointments are required at other times.

◎ Historic theaters turned popular museums

The Hsinchu Municipal Image Museum, formerly known as the “Yueraku Theater,” opened in 1933 as Taiwan’s first Western-style theater equipped with air conditioning. Its architecture blends ancient Roman and Arabic styles. After the Retrocession in 1945, it was renamed the National Theater. It ceased operations in the 1990s and was renovated and reopened as the current municipal image museum in 1999.

◎ Harbor Picture Book Museum – A voyage into an artistic paradise

The newly opened Harbor Picture Book Museum is located in the Qingshui Veterans Village Cultural Park along the coastal area. Its eye-catching facade features a giant humpback whale, sparking endless imagination. Inside, there are four themed spaces and a tranquil outdoor reading area, making it a dreamlike new playground for children in rural areas.

◎ A delightful light escape – Relief at the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum

Covering a total area of 70 hectares, the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum is positioned as a “Museum of Asian Art and Culture.” In addition to showcasing a diverse collection of Asian artifacts, its 50-hectare outdoor space also features public artworks by eight renowned artists from around the world, including Yayoi Kusama. The main museum building, designed by architect Kris Yao, is itself a work of art. Even if you don’t enter the exhibition halls, walking through the Southern Branch offers the atmosphere of strolling through an art space.

◎ Southernmost historic architecture – Rich in historical charm

The Pingtung Art Museum, located in a prime area of Pingtung City, served as the office of successive mayors since the Japanese colonial period. Due to its location in a bustling district, after the city government relocated, several business groups expressed interest in purchasing the site to transform it into a mall. However, the public sector never approved such plans. Now, the beauty of the historic building has been preserved, and it has been repurposed as an art museum—an tranquil venue for promoting Pingtung’s art scene.
