The Golden Needle Flower Season at Sixty Stone Mountain Begins with Vast Blooms of Golden and Yellow Flowers

Every summer is the season of the golden and magnificent golden needle flower seas, and the annual Hualien Golden Needle Flower Season runs from August 5 to September 24. Both Chikuo Mountain in Yuli and Sixty Stone Mountain in Fuli will burst into bloom with summer enthusiasm. This year’s golden needle flower sea spans an area of 63.15 hectares. In addition to launching a natural ecology tour that allows daytime flower viewing and nighttime stargazing for the first time, there will also be a limited “Flower Spike Rice” available for tourists to snap up during the flower season. Currently, the blooming status is about 10% to 20%.

Yuli Chikuo Mountain and Fuli Sixty Stone Mountain are Taiwan’s two major high-mountain golden needle production areas. During the 50-day Sixty Stone Mountain Golden Needle Flower Season, besides ascending to vantage points to enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the flower seas, a Golden Needle Flower Season photography competition is also held, allowing more people to appreciate the beauty of the golden needle flower seas.

※ Only vehicles with 9 seats or fewer are allowed to drive up Chikuo Mountain and Sixty Stone Mountain
※ One-way traffic is in place on Sixty Stone Mountain during the event period
Cars: Ascend from Zhutian Village at the 308.5 km mark on Highway 9, then descend towards Dongli Village in the direction of Amei Creek from Sixty Stone Mountain
Motorcycles: Ascend from Zhutian Village at the 308.5 km mark on Highway 9, then return the same way
