As autumn and winter arrive, it’s the perfect time for maple leaf viewing and skiing. Here's some good news for travelers planning a trip to Japan recently. With the US dollar continuously rising against the Japanese yen, the yen has been declining since early September. The yen-to-New Taiwan Dollar exchange rate has also plunged to near a three-month low. Travelers can seize the opportunity to exchange yen now by converting their currency earlier.

Since September 8, the Japanese yen has been on a continuous downward trend, with the buying rate dropping to 0.2592 and the selling rate at 0.2701 (as of October 19 exchange rates), even falling further to 0.2691 (as of October 20 exchange rates)—a new low in nearly three months. The previous low was on July 11, when the selling rate was 0.2702. For example, if you exchange 50,000 New Taiwan Dollars, the TWD/JPY exchange rate on September 8 was 0.281, allowing you to get approximately 177,900 yen. Now, you can get around 185,800 yen, saving nearly 8,000 yen—about the cost of one Tokyo Disneyland ticket.
