The heartbreak gashapon machine has a new hot topic, plus a pink-and-white ball wall that’s super photogenic

In recent years, Taiwan has seen all kinds of unique gashapon machines, including dessert-themed ones, giant gashapon dispensers, and stores featuring Gundam figures. Now, the Taichung area has introduced the “Heartbreak Gashapon Machine.” When you insert a coin and turn the handle, the capsule inside contains a useless piece of scrap paper, giving people a taste of heartbreak—and thus sparking a wave of discussion. Within a short time, four additional locations have been set up in Taichung, with the Fengjia flagship store featuring a pink-themed design.

The Fengjia flagship store of the Heartbreak Gashapon Machine is decorated mainly in a dreamy pink color scheme. Inside, there’s a large banner that reads “Heartbreak,” an entire wall of pink-and-white gashapon balls, as well as a variety of nonsensical phrases and heartbreak banners, making it a stylish gashapon shop beloved by girls. In addition to the Heartbreak Gashapon Machine, seasonal campaigns are sometimes launched, including the Valentine’s Day “Heartthrob Gashapon Machine,” “Scheming Gashapon Machine,” “Wish Gashapon Machine,” “Peaceful Gashapon Machine,” and “Bittersweet Gashapon Machine.”
