The northeast monsoon is intensifying, with temperatures dropping below 20°C. Stay warm.

Starting from the 23rd, the lowest temperatures will fall below 20°C, with Yunlin region even seeing a minimum of just 18°C. Strong gusts of 8 to 9 on the Beaufort scale persist in central and northern Taiwan, the Hengchun Peninsula, southeastern areas (including Green Island and Orchid Island), as well as coastal and open areas of Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu. Nearby seas will see rough waves. Due to the influence of Typhoon Lan, long-period swells are likely along the coasts of northern, northeastern Taiwan, and Matsu—extra caution is advised for beach activities.

Currently, there is a tropical depression with a pressure of 1002 hPa located at 9°N, 148°E, that is, over the sea surface southeast of Guam. It is moving southwest at 15 km/h. Whether it will develop into a typhoon depends on further observation of its development.
