Sun Moon Lake also offers night scenery: Fireworks Festival and night lake cruises as new highlights

The Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration is piloting nighttime navigation every Friday and Saturday from October 20 to December 16, totaling 18 days, including the annual Fireworks Festival. This is a major annual event not to be missed when visiting Sun Moon Lake in autumn, and also a new option for those traveling to the area.

The annual Fireworks Festival is one of Taiwan’s regular large-scale events. This year, from October 20 to December 16, every Friday and Saturday will feature the highlight of restarted nighttime lake cruises. A total of 14 electric boats are participating in the nighttime navigation trial, with yacht operators specially decorating their boats with stuffed toys and balloons, complemented by colorful lights to create a romantic atmosphere. Multiple illuminated yachts lined up will cruise around Sun Moon Lake, making the nighttime voyage even more spectacular, while also adding vibrant colors to the nighttime scenery of the lake area. Coupled with the fireworks display at the Sun Moon Lake Fireworks Festival, this will make the nighttime lake cruising activity a hot new topic.

In addition to nighttime lake cruises, there will also be fireworks music concerts held for the Fireworks Festival, featuring performances by the Youth Symphony Orchestra under the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra and other acts in three grand fireworks music events, aiming to liven up every night of the festival.
