The first cherry blossom in New Taipei has bloomed！ These hidden cherry blossom spots are the first to flower

Every year from February to March, after the beginning of spring, the season arrives for 150,000 Taiwan mountain cherries, double-flowered cherries, and Yoshino cherries to burst into colorful bloom across New Taipei City. Not only do they flower in various districts of the city, but their crimson petals also flutter like snowflakes, adding joyful hues to the lush mountain forests. Now, the first shy blossoms of Taiwan mountain cherries have appeared at the Dajhih Rehabilitation Center in Dalin, Pinglin, ushering in New Taipei City’s first romantic blush of cherry blossoms.

This year, due to the influence of a warm winter, the mountain cherry blossoms are expected to begin budding by the end of January to early February, and will be in full bloom by mid-February. By then, the peach-colored mountain cherry blossoms will echo the festive atmosphere of the New Year holiday period, making it the best time for cherry blossom viewing. Popular cherry blossom spots in New Taipei City such as Xilu’an in Wulai and Dahu Road in Sanzhi will all become hotspots for blossom viewing.

 New Taipei City is home to 150,000 cherry trees, waiting to bud in winter and bloom in spring. Cherry blossom events are also held in Shiding, Tamsui, Jinshan, Wulai, Sanzhi, and Shicheng District, making them perfect destinations for holiday travel.
