Starbucks unveils world’s largest new 3D-printed bar with ultra-futuristic AR experience

After Starbucks reclaimed full operational control of its Shanghai stores and transitioned to a wholly owned direct management model, Asia’s first experiential store — “Starbucks Reserve® Shanghai Roastery” — has officially opened in Shanghai. Boasting grandeur, luxury, and even “VR,” it is the world’s second Reserve Roastery following the opening of the first “Seattle Reserve Roastery” in 2014. It also features the world’s first Teavana tea bar, constructed using 3D-printed recyclable materials.

Starbucks Shanghai Roastery is not only the largest Starbucks store globally in terms of floor space — spanning 843 ping (approximately half the size of a soccer field) — but also the world’s largest immersive coffee experience store. Upon entering the store, visitors are greeted by a massive two-story-high, 40-ton copper vat adorned with over 1,000 traditional Chinese seals and seal-engraved patterns, hand-carved with the story of Starbucks and coffee.
