New Year's wishes adorn Taipei 101’s unprecedented largest wish tree across Taiwan

Every year as New Year’s approaches, the most highly anticipated event is the Taipei 101 fireworks show, but this year, in addition to the fireworks, Taipei 101 has made an unprecedented move by installing a massive T-Pad light grid spanning 7 bays and reaching 56 floors high from the 35th to the 90th floors, allowing Taipei 101 to showcase many more different looks.

In addition, along with the new exterior wall light grid, Taipei 101 has also launched the “Taipei 101 2018 Happiness Together” campaign, inviting everyone to visit the fanpageto participate in the event and leave their New Year’s wishes. Selected wishes may be displayed on the walls of Taipei 101, transforming it into the largest wish tree in Taiwan, accompanying everyone as they count down to the new year.

The “Taipei 101 2018 Happiness Together” wish campaign became hugely popular right after launch, with many people submitting fun wishes such as “I want to lose 8 kg!” and “I want to find love,” which were displayed on the wall—making this campaign a highlight. The fan page not only notifies selected wishers of their inclusion, but also informs them of when their wish will go live, so everyone can capture the moment their wish lights up the giant wall, adding deep significance to the experience.

Many people left wishes for confessions or marriage proposals, adding even more talking points to the light wall. This campaign will run until 2017/12/21, selecting 272 wishers’ wishes via computer lottery every day.
