Winter flower fields turn golden as cosmos blossoms paint a picturesque scene

This year’s popular “Guandu Flower Sea Festival” in the Greater Taipei area attracted many visitors for photos and check-ins, becoming a hit on Instagram. It not only boosted tourism but also earned praise from numerous netizens. The festival, known for showcasing different flower seas across seasons, has undergone multiple floral transformations since summer. Currently, in addition to the ongoing second phase of angel flowers, yellow cosmos and sunflowers have also quietly bloomed along the outer edges of the angel flower base. The vibrant golden cosmos and sunflowers burst into color against the green canvas, creating an enchanting sight.

The sunflower field at this year’s Guandu Flower Sea features a dwarf, double-flowered, multi-bloom variety, differing from the commonly seen tall-stemmed, large-blossomed sunflowers—offering visitors a fresh floral experience. The golden cosmos sea, together with the charming purple angel flowers, creates eye-catching beauty, with each base’s distinct colored flower seas offering delightful views.

The Guandu Flower Sea Festival will continue to rotate through floral seasons until February 2018, after which purple sage and large-petaled cosmos displays will follow.
