Wenxin Forest Park

Wenxin Forest Park boasts vast green spaces and a wealth of family-friendly recreational facilities, such as the mound rest area and the skating plaza. Aside from being a popular picnic spot for groups of friends, it’s also a parent-favorite destination for “kid-walking”! The park is also pet-friendly, offering many facilities designed for furry companions, attracting many pet owners to bring their animals here to run and play. Most notably, the park features Taiwan’s largest outdoor performance amphitheater — the Round Amphitheater — which can accommodate approximately 15,000 spectators. The Taichung City Government holds numerous cultural and artistic events here every year. It’s no wonder this wonderful urban oasis has been named one of the “Top 10 Hottest Picnic Spots in Taiwan”!

In recent years, Qimei Greenway has become one of the hottest picnic spots in Taichung — not only because it’s located next to the culturally rich Eslite Bookstore, but also because it comes alive on holidays with various creative markets and lively street performances. This blend of cultural vibes and joyful atmosphere makes it a favorite not just for parents looking to relax with their kids, but also for travelers from all over who come to experience Taichung’s laid-back lifestyle.

Tunghai University

Spanning over 130 hectares, Tunghai University features expansive lawns and lush trees, making its green environment one of the reasons it’s been hailed as one of the most beautiful campuses in Taiwan. In addition, the lake is teeming with wildlife, such as swans and various fish species swimming freely, creating a truly calming scene. Taichung Park

As the oldest park in Taichung and a well-known city landmark, Taichung Park attracts many picnic lovers with its classic romantic charm and lush groves. The Lake Heart Pavilion in the park is also boat-friendly, so many families come for walks and leisure on holidays. Moreover, Taichung Park is close to the Yizhong Shopping District — a great option for some post-picnic shopping.
