So photogenic! Jiayi’s dried flower café features an entire wall of roses

During my trip to Jiayi, I visited Kite Traveler, a place on my must-visit list. As soon as I stepped through the door, I was greeted by dried flower decorations that were simply delightful. Here, you can enjoy coffee with light meals and afternoon tea desserts. In addition, this spot also functions as a youth hostel and offers wedding photography rental services.

Located at No. 195, Wenhua Road, Jiayi City, Kite Traveler has a rather inconspicuous exterior and signboard, so it's easy to miss. The front faces Jiayi Central Plaza, which has an underground parking lot—very convenient if you’re driving.

As soon as you push open the door, you step into a floral wonderland. Aside from the hanging dried flowers, both sides are decorated in different styles. Especially love the mirror window design on the wall—it’s a big hit with me. Not only does it reflect an even more vibrant floral world, but it also makes for great selfies surrounded by flowers.

Inside, there's a super photogenic dried flower merchandise area, and further ahead is the dining seating area. The seats are divided on both sides: one side features a charming and romantic rose wall, while the other has a minimalist and delicate setup, with tables made from vintage sewing machines. I really love the atmosphere here—nostalgic and retro, yet also romantic and enchanting.

The rose wall is definitely a favorite for girls who love taking photos. The shop also provides dried flower wreaths and bouquets for photo props.

The menu at Kite Traveler is displayed on a large blackboard at the back. When you're ready to eat, come here first to place your order. You can enjoy breakfast and afternoon tea desserts here, but there’s a 1.5-hour limit for dining.

There was a promotion during my visit where checking in earned you a small dried flower postcard.

Now let’s talk about the food. On the day we visited, we ordered a tuna sandwich. The toast was crispy, and it was layered with tuna, egg, lettuce, and more—a simple and refreshing flavor.

The matcha lava cake had a slightly crisp surface. When you scoop it with a spoon, the hidden matcha filling bursts out. Since it's freshly baked, you get to enjoy the dual textures of matcha at a warm, comforting temperature—but it’s on the sweeter side. The cake wasn’t served on a plate, so no photo of the matcha lava flowing out this time.

For drinks, we had a rose latte and a lavender sparkling drink. The rose latte was mild and smooth with a strong floral aroma due to the generous amount of rose petals. The lavender sparkling drink not only had a dreamy purple color but also gave the sensation of lavender "dancing" as bubbles in your mouth. The shop uses glass straws, which adds a nice touch, but be careful not to break them.

After our meal, we continued strolling, looking around, and taking pictures. The seating area is decorated with many glass balls combined with dried flowers, creating a very dreamy and romantic vibe.

We especially loved the dried flowers hanging at the entrance and the decor in this area. Not only the flowers, but even the tablecloths are floral—nothing feels out of place, and the overall retro ambiance is just perfect. Especially the mirror-framed windows, which create an illusion of extended space and offer beautiful views of the scenery outside. They’re also great for taking photos of your own reflection. If you like any of the merchandise or want help with your own styling, you can ask the staff. Additionally, they offer flower arrangement classes and rent out spaces for wedding photography.

Mother’s Day is approaching, and the shop has related decorations too.

Dried flowers made into bouquets become meaningful keepsakes and decorations—pretty nice, I think.

It’s a small shop with an unassuming exterior, but inside it’s explosively romantic and incredibly photogenic. That day, surrounded by the floral world created by Kite Traveler, I felt the colorful dreaminess of dried flowers and experienced pure happiness.
