April, with its warm spring weather, is the perfect time to enjoy flowers. Besides the dreamy purple wisteria blooms that have taken Taiwan by storm, the calla lilies are also blooming now. A vibrant field of yellow flowers is in full display in Waipu District, Taichung City. The brilliant golden hues set against the lush green countryside create a breathtaking sight. Don’t miss out—head out during the weekend to enjoy the flowers!

The expansive golden calla lily fields have captivated passersby, drawing them to stop and admire the view. This stunning yellow flower field spans approximately 600 pyeong (around 1,980 square meters) and is managed by the Shuiliudong Leisure Agriculture Area. The area is irrigated by the Houli Canal system, built during the Japanese colonial period, which supports many local crops. In addition to the calla lily fields, visitors can also explore dragon fruit orchards and a winery within the park. It's a great spot for a weekend flower-and-fruit-picking trip.

The blooming season is expected to last until mid-May. As the yellow calla lilies have relatively shallow roots, they can be easily damaged if picked carelessly.Currently, the calla lily fields are open for free public photography only. Authorities kindly ask visitors not to step on or pick the flowers.
