Resorts World Sentosa breaks world records; massive ocean viewing panel offers an underwater experience

The renowned integrated resort on Singapore’s Sentosa Island—Resorts World Sentosa—is arguably a must-visit destination in Singapore. Its S.E.A. Aquarium has even broken two Guinness World Records: not only is it the world’s largest aquarium, but it also features the world’s largest ocean viewing window, offering a novel sensation as if you’re right under the sea. Even Taiwan’s beloved TV personality, Patty Hou, has said she’s ready to gather a group and head there for a visit.
To help more Taiwanese travelers get to know Resorts World Sentosa, its representatives specially came to Taiwan to hold an Asian roadshow product launch event, inviting well-traveled Taiwanese TV personality Patty Hou to serve as the host. Patty has already visited Resorts World Sentosa, and is very familiar with its facilities—for instance, the one-of-a-kind Universal Studios theme park in Southeast Asia, which launched a new Sesame Street indoor theme play area on March 1 this year. The resort’s Lavo New York Pizza Bar has also officially kicked off the Sesame Street Stars Breakfast event, allowing families to enjoy breakfast with the timeless Sesame Street characters.

The newly opened Marine Life Park at the end of last year is home to over 100,000 marine animals and offers both dry and wet experiences, allowing visitors to get up close with ocean life. At the heart of the park is the ocean viewing panel that broke the Guinness World Record—it is as large as three double-decker buses stacked in two rows, stretching over 25,000 kilograms in weight, showcasing the mesmerizing sights of deep-sea habitats to visitors.
When visitors want to take a break, the eco-friendly hotels within the park offer both rest and entertainment, along with creative Chinese cuisine by renowned Singaporean chef Leong Chee Yeng, and premium French dining by Joël Robuchon, the world’s most Michelin-starred chef. For those looking to relax and indulge in spa treatments, don’t miss ESPA, which recently won the title of Best Wellness Spa Centre at the 8th Asia Spa Awards. Resorts World Sentosa is not only known for its diverse offerings but has also hosted many top Asian celebrities, such as Ariel Lin, Ella Chen, Vic Chou, Kai Ko, and Power Station.
Ng Phee Liong, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Resorts World Sentosa Group, stated that according to data from the Singapore Tourism Board, the number of Taiwanese visitors to Singapore grew at an average annual rate of 23% in 2010, and saw a 27% increase last year compared to the previous year. Deputy Director Lock Xiao Ling also mentioned that first-quarter performance has already exceeded targets, and future plans include introducing an interactive dolphin habitat, as well as offering students the chance to stay overnight in tent-style accommodations after the aquarium closes, to experience the nightlife marine ecosystem.
