Strawberry lovers eagerly await the strawberry season every year just for this strawberry daifuku. Online pre-orders have already been scheduled until next March, but fortunately, a small number of fresh items are available daily for walk-in customers. Made fresh on the day with limited daily supply, people start lining up even before opening.
These people started lining up before the shop even opened. Those who want to buy in person are advised to queue up early before the store opens. In-store purchases are available from 3:00 PM Monday to Saturday, while on Sundays, only in-store sales start at 2:00 PM, and the quantity is likely to be higher.

If you’re ordering through their official website, current pre-order shipments are now scheduled until next March — scared my feet off.

The daifuku is packed in kraft paper boxes, which feel quite premium.

The box has labels indicating the flavors. “Kiwi Dog” — not sure if it’s an intentionally humorous hidden edition or if the paper box manufacturer has some Taiwanese dog ants? Either way, it’s pretty amusing.

Each box contains 6 pieces, all sold in single flavors, no mixed selection.

Product flyer, plus a hidden edition “Taro Strawberry Daifuku,” available at a promotional price of NT$140 per box (original price NT$150) until 2017/12/31.

Size comparison of daifuku — just the right bite.

Strawberry Daifuku — the outer layer is so thin it's almost translucent, soft and chewy without sticking to your teeth. The mochi is delicate, and the sweet red bean paste wraps around the whole strawberry snugly. The texture doesn’t get overly sweet or cloying, and the freshly sliced strawberry adds a juicy burst. It’s incredibly satisfying. Even those who aren't usually big on strawberries will love it.

Taro Strawberry Daifuku — made with 100% natural Dajia taro, with no added flavorings or preservatives. The taro filling is rich and you can actually taste bits of diced taro, giving a wonderfully satisfying chunky texture. Paired with a whole small strawberry, it adds even more richness to the mouthfeel. Even someone like me, who isn’t a taro fan, was won over!

Heavy Cheese Matcha Daifuku — the matcha heavy cheese cake is wrapped inside the daifuku. The matcha flavor is mild, not overpowering, and the overall sweetness level is just right.
