A young woman named Meter, who grew up in Neihu, knows the area like the back of her hand. When walking into the foodie haven—Lane 737—it’s almost like strolling through a “kitchen.” Although Lane 737 in Neihu can’t quite be called a night market, its snacks and street foods are already “widely famous.”

The last must-eat dish in Lane 737, Meter recommends “Da Chen Ji Noodle Shop.” It’s said that Meter’s mom absolutely loves it and makes a point to stop by Da Chen Ji every time she visits Lane 737—as if you haven’t truly been to Lane 737 without trying it. In fact, Da Chen Ji Noodle Shop is also a vivid childhood memory for many locals in Neihu. Meter says, when you’re in Lane 737, don’t miss this flavor!

Having been in business for over 20 years, Da Chen Ji Noodle Shop is almost always fully seated even outside peak dining hours. The owner says the shop’s signature dish is the “vinegar noodles.” The menu is as simple and straightforward as the name—just a bowl of dry noodles mixed with vinegar. But these vinegar noodles from Da Chen Ji are strangely irresistible, with slippery, Q-textured noodles and a perfectly balanced firmness. A touch of tangy black vinegar and soy sauce, along with a few slices of cabbage, leaves a lasting impression. For just NT$35, you can enjoy this long-beloved local dish that’s been fragrant in Neihu for over two decades.
