Healing desserts always come up with new ideas. The newly opened SIANG HAO PATISSERIE in Taichung has captured hearts with its “stone” and “heart” marble mirror cakes that quickly became Instagram hits. From the tables and plates to the cakes, everything is uniformly white marble, creating a unique texture for the shop. Even during its trial run, it has won over many young women in Taichung.

Mirror cakes started trending overseas last year, and now they’re available at dessert shops in Taichung too. SIANG HAO PATISSERIE was jointly founded by two people, with the name combining one character from each of their names. The in-his-20s owner is the shop’s signature attraction—handsome guy plus desserts, no wonder girls flock here.

Currently still in its trial phase, SIANG HAO offers six types of desserts daily, with a limit of 60 per day. In addition to the mainstays—the stone marble mirror cake, heart marble mirror cake, and marble cake—three other desserts are seasonal or rotate irregularly. Each cake is priced at just over 100 NTD, making them quite affordable compared to the high-end marble decor.

Upon entering the shop, almost every customer has the “stone” marble mirror cake in hand. Its smooth mirror-like surface features alternating dark gray and light gray swirls, resembling a polished piece of marble. The cake itself is made with hazelnut, chocolate cake, and cranberry jelly, offering a slightly tangy flavor with a unique taste.

The heart marble mirror cake changes colors randomly—it might be a romantic pink or a cosmic mix of deep blue, green, and yellow. The beautiful design makes you want to hold it in your hands and not eat it.

The main drinks offered are teas from French brand Hediard and sparkling wines. Currently, elderflower sparkling wine is especially popular among female customers. Enjoying a beautiful dessert with sparkling wine on a lazy afternoon is incredibly relaxing and pleasant.
