When visiting Daxi Old Street, do you always just “admire from afar” the Grand Bridge? This bridge has a unique design, yet few people actually walk across it. By day, you can admire Baroque-style architectural art; as night falls, vibrant beams add splashes of color to the bridge, making it particularly eye-catching, with the light hues shifting over time. It’s a great spot for photos without spending a dime.

Continuing the Baroque architectural style of Daxi Peace Old Street, the Grand Bridge was reconstructed in the style of the original Daxi suspension bridge from the Japanese colonial period. The bridgeheads on both sides feature grand arch designs; looking up, the semicircular carved arches resemble a magnificent castle. Stone carvings and reliefs adorn both sides of the bridge, and mosaic tile accents can be found along the central pathway. A simple snapshot here feels like stepping into medieval Europe, making it a popular dating and photo spot for couples.

Spanning the Dahan River and connecting to a bike path, the Grand Bridge stretches 330 meters in total. Since being renovated into a Baroque-style concrete pedestrian bridge, it has undergone a stunning transformation, rapidly boosting its popularity as a tourist attraction.
