Australia’s Vivid Sydney Creative Arts Festival is officially entering its sixth year this year. Over the past five years, it has drawn massive crowds to Sydney, with visitors from around the world marveling at the classic landmarks dazzlingly illuminated by colorful lights. Sometimes, these landmarks also present a huge visual impact through creative forms such as large-scale backdrops, transformed designs, or photographic displays. This year, the organizers have widely invited global artists to join in, aiming to once again wow all visitors with the festival’s diverse content and culture.
This year’s Vivid Sydney will feature 60 spectacular exhibits, including the annually beloved creative 3D visual art displays that use stereoscopic sound and light to reinterpret Sydney’s two iconic landmarks—the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. In addition to the light art projected across various local exhibition venues, sidewalks, waterfront promenades, and even tunnels, there will also be live concerts performed by artists from around the world. Numerous creative performance groups and dance troupes will also join in during the 18-day festival, bringing joy and unforgettable memories to all.
Given the enthusiastic response from global visitors over the past few years, the organizers decided to expand the event in 2013. As a result, Darling Harbour in Sydney will also join Vivid Sydney this year, offering visitors an exceptional vantage point to enjoy dazzling fountains, concerts, and a world-class water show by the renowned French company Aquatique Show International.
Vivid Sydney attracts hundreds of thousands of global visitors to the Southern Hemisphere every year, filled with spectacular light and sound performances, music, and artistic creativity. This year’s event will be held from May 24 to June 10.
