What?! An oasis has appeared in the heart of hot and bustling Bangkok, Thailand? When I first heard the news, I started wondering — what exactly does Bangkok’s “oasis” look like? Is it a precious pool of water in an otherwise barren land, or a “city oasis” carved out within a towering department store that seems to touch the sky?

▲An “oasis” in Bangkok?
At the famous Siam shopping district in Thailand, just five minutes' walk from Siam Paragon through the mall, you’ll find this “urban oasis” located in Bangkok’s busiest retail area. Named the Siam Kempinski Hotel, it centers around a luxurious oasis concept, encircling the hotel's central courtyard garden in a ring-like formation. The hotel’s swimming pool wraps around the entire atrium, ensuring that no matter which room you stay in, you can enjoy the unique view of Bangkok’s one-of-a-kind “oasis.”

Opened in September 2010 and taking four years to build, the Siam Kempinski Hotel is one of the rare German-style hotels in Asia. Its European minimalist and refined design blends with Thai artistry, adding a local cultural warmth to the hotel’s grand and luxurious feel. This creates a low-key sense of luxury paired with the joyful vibrancy of Thai hospitality.

As soon as you step into the Siam Kempinski Hotel, the grand lobby with ceilings over five stories high is a standout feature. The rooms also combine European style with Thai art — each room features a large lotus painting above the bed. Additionally, the in-room kitchenette is equipped with all the common cooking tools one might need; the refrigerator is stocked with everything from canned tea to beer, all available for free. There’s even a dedicated capsule coffee machine offering four different flavors of coffee for guests to enjoy in their rooms.
