The results of the 14th annual Readers’ Choice Survey conducted by renowned U.S. travel magazine Global Traveler have been announced, with China Airlines achieving a five-peat by winning the “Best Airline in North Asia” award, while also retaining the “Best Business-Class Seat Design” title for the third consecutive year—once again putting the Taiwanese brand on the map.

Global Traveler has been holding its annual Readers’ Choice Survey for 14 years, selecting the top representatives in over 80 travel-related industry categories. The magazine’s readership primarily consists of business professionals such as entrepreneurs and senior managers who fly regional routes an average of more than 13 times and international routes over 11 times per year. Francis X. Gallagher, CEO of Global Traveler, stated that China Airlines not only won “Best Business-Class Seat Design” but also claimed the “Best Airline in North Asia” title for the fifth consecutive year, serving as significant proof of the airline’s outstanding achievements in service quality and route network.

In 2017, China Airlines received numerous awards both domestically and internationally, including the Grand Prize at the 128th Rose Parade in the U.S., being ranked among the “Top 20 Most Admired Companies for the New Generation” by Cheers Magazine, earning the Reader’s Digest “Most Trusted Brand Gold Award” in Asia for the 19th consecutive year, receiving the Air Cargo World 2017 Excellence in Air Cargo Award, the 2017 TCSA Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Award, the 2017 Far Eastern Excellent Service Award, and Dynasty inflight magazine retaining the APEX Publication Excellence Award in the U.S.

China Airlines stated that it will continue to introduce 10 new 777s and 14 new A350s, along with the expertise of its professional maintenance team and attentive in-flight and ground services, providing travelers with the best options for global business and leisure travel. The airline is optimizing its global route network, launching the Taipei–London route starting December, increasing Taipei–Sydney flights to two daily round trips, boosting Taipei–Brisbane–Auckland services to one daily flight, and opening a new direct Taipei–Ontario (California, U.S.) route in spring 2018, continually expanding its dense route network and broadening its flight coverage.
