Swing 2,660 meters above ground – the cliff swing at the edge of the world in Ecuador

Swings are a beloved playground attraction for many in their childhood, and I’m sure every reader has tried one. But this seemingly harmless plaything can actually become a favorite for thrill-seekers too. On the mountainside of the Ecuadorian town of Baños, there’s a small wooden house called La Casa del Árbol. What draws countless visitors to this humble structure is the “swing to the edge of the world.” Wonder if you have the guts to give it a try?

“Went swinging again?” It’s said that this is how locals greet travelers or backpackers. Swing out here, and you’re 2,660 meters above the ground — definitely not for the faint of heart.

Even with such high danger levels and extremely simple equipment — just ropes and wooden planks tied to a tree branch — many still come to take on the challenge. Adventurers of all ages, men and women alike, have left their footprints here.
