Some members of the public have complained to the media that their parents-in-law, who are Japanese, recently took a Far Eastern Air Transport flight to visit Taiwan. However, they did not receive their luggage on the first day of arrival and only got it the next day. They said they would never take this airline again. In response, Far Eastern Air Transport explained that due to heavy snow in Japan—an uncontrollable weather condition—it affected the aircraft’s weight restrictions, causing the luggage to arrive in Taiwan the next day at noon. The airline expressed deep apologies.
According to a report by Apple Daily, some individuals complained that on the 18th, their parents-in-law arrived in Taiwan but did not receive their luggage. The tour guide called Far Eastern Airlines the next day but failed to get a clear explanation about the whereabouts of the luggage or the reason for the issue. The luggage was not received until after 11 p.m., which led them to have a very poor impression of the airline’s service attitude.
The report stated that Far Eastern Air Transport explained that the FE621 flight from New _ (presumably New Chitose) to Taoyuan on the 18th was affected by heavy snow in New _, which impacted the aircraft’s weight restrictions, resulting in luggage being delayed and arriving in Taiwan the next day at noon. Subsequently, the luggage was delivered to passengers’ accommodation throughout the afternoon of the same day. Each passenger was also compensated with NT$1,000, and the airline expressed its deepest apologies for the inconvenience caused.
