The “Wanggong Fishing Lights Festival” Kicks Off with a Bang This Weekend – Featuring Bands Wang Fu and MATZKA

The Wanggong Fishing Lights Festival in Changhua is set to unfold over two days, July 13 and 14, at Wanggong Fishing Port in Fangyuan Township. This year’s festival features six major activities: the Ocean Music Festival, a spectacular fireworks show, the Wanggong Story House, “Star of Wanggong” – a cultural and historical exhibition, a gourmet seafood banquet, and a prayer and carnival celebration. Together, they showcase the unique local charm and beautiful coastal culture of Wanggong in Changhua. Changhua County Magistrate Cho Po-yuan stated that Fangyuan Wanggong is a beautiful gem of Changhua, and the Wanggong Fishing Lights Festival injects youthful vitality into the area.

In addition to the festive events of the Wanggong Fishing Lights Festival, there will also be an Ocean Music Festival featuring performances by fresh-voiced singer第Guo Jing, talented songwriter Fang Jiong-bin, band Wang Fu, reggae-influenced band MATZKA, Golden Melody Award nominee Jia Jia (Best Female Singer), and Best New Artist winner Bai An, all bringing the hottest coastal music to Taiwan’s beautiful central coastline. Additionally, a stunning fireworks display has been arranged to paint the summer night skies above Wanggong in brilliant colors.

Cho Po-yuan noted that Fangyuan Wanggong is a beautiful treasure of Changhua, boasting enchanting natural ecological scenery and delicious pearl oyster dishes, making it a uniquely distinctive harbor town in Changhua. Over the years, the Wanggong Fishing Lights Festival has attracted thousands of young participants each year, injecting much youthful energy into the area and significantly boosting the overall tourism appeal of Changhua County on a national level.

Additionally, during the event period, traffic control will be in place at Wanggong Fishing Port from 7:30 AM to 11:00 PM. To accommodate visitors, the Changhua County Government will provide free shuttle buses daily from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM. The public is encouraged to take advantage of these buses to reach the event venue.
