The golden needle flowers in Taimali have bloomed!

It is expected that from August, they will enter their peak blooming period. By then, stretching down from Shuangruifeng Peak at an altitude of 1,300 meters to Wangyou Valley, the entire area will look as if it has been graced with a golden rain, with individual golden needle blossoms set against green leaves. The valley will be a vibrant blend of gold and green, offering a uniquely beautiful sight.

Located in Taimali, Golden Needle Mountain boasts high elevation, cool temperatures, and high humidity—ideal conditions that produce tender, fragrant, brightly colored golden needle flowers in abundant supply. These flowers have long been one of Taimali’s key sources of income. However, due to oversupply in the market, the county government began guiding a transition strategy. In addition to cultivating golden needles, they started introducing cherry blossoms, apricot blossoms, and wild lilies. The ever-changing mountain mists are a signature feature of Golden Needle Mountain, and when these colorful flower seas are paired with swirling clouds and fog, they create some of the most stunning scenery imaginable. Moreover, additional public facilities such as viewing platforms, pavilions, walking trails, and parking lots have been installed to make visiting the area more convenient for tourists.

Cheng Cheng-chun, Magistrate of Taimali Township, stated that every year during August and September is the most beautiful season for golden needle flower blooms on Golden Needle Mountain. After the opening ceremony of the Golden Needle Flower Season on August 3rd this year, a series of activities will follow, including a hike along the Little Great Wall Trail, a creative cooking competition featuring golden needle flower dishes, art charity auctions, concerts, and a mountain cycling race.
