1. Hsinchu – Voice of the Sea
“Here, you can hear only the sound of the sea!” This roughly 100-meter-long seawall in Xiangshan, Hsinchu, stretches straight out toward the center of the sea. Listening to the waves and feeling the breeze, it’s like walking on a “Highway to Heaven.” Even after part of it was damaged by a typhoon, what remains still retains that dreamy feeling of extending “deep into the sea,” making it one of photographers’ favorite spots — especially at sunset, when the views are nothing short of classic.

2. Penghu – Houliau Village
Located in Houliau Village, Baisha Township, Penghu, there’s a pier seawall that curves like a snake and stretches all the way into the sea. It’s known as the offshore island’s Highway to Heaven, with views extending endlessly over the water and sparking boundless imagination. This hidden gem is an abandoned old pier that still retains an unspoiled, rustic charm. Standing here, you can soak in the serene, otherworldly atmosphere.
Please note that the shape of the seawall here is curved and much narrower. Travelers are advised not to visit during bad weather and to pay extra attention to safety while taking photos.

3. Hualien – Highway to Heaven
While Taitung is famous for its “Highway to Heaven” known as the Prolonged Boulevard, Hualien’s version is located in Songpu Township, Yuli. Though it’s just a farm road, it winds through the fields and seems to stretch all the way to the other end of the sky. Whether surrounded by lush green rice paddies or golden seas of grain, the scenery is simply captivating.

Next to it lies Taiwan’s most beautiful highway — Provincial Highway 193. Visitors can enjoy both attractions in one go, breathing in the fresh air and relaxed vibe of the countryside fields, which helps escape the hustle and bustle of city life and clears the mind. Please note that this is an agricultural road, so to avoid disturbing farmers, visitors are asked not to drive vehicles onto the road and to help protect the hard work of local growers.
