Taiwan’s First Fishing-Themed Tourist Factory“Paoxiong Fishing Fun Museum”has officially opened. The operator invested heavily to import realistic fishing simulators from France and has launched the “Taiwan Tuna King” challenge. Participants have just five minutes to reel in a 500-kilogram tuna and can win fishing gear worth NT$300,000. Visitors who purchase tickets before the end of August can also enjoy one free challenge with their ticket stub.

The operator noted that most people rarely get the chance to go deep-sea fishing. The fishing simulators at the museum let consumers experience the thrill of battling giant tuna without leaving shore. Only 16 people have so far succeeded in the “Taiwan Tuna King” challenge. The operator added, “Even a 65-year-old grandpa took on the challenge—what are you waiting for?” Those who succeed within the five-minute timeframe can freely choose a fishing rod, with total prize value exceeding NT$300,000.

Paoxiong Fishing Fun Museum is invested and established by Okuma, one of the world’s top three fishing gear brands. In addition to the fishing simulation experience, the museum features a fishing history origin zone, a Taiwan Fishing Adventure multimedia experience area, a fishing gear production process display, a fishing techniques and equipment exhibition area, and an interactive experience zone. Among them, the history origin zone showcases vintage fishing gear from various eras and introduces common fish species in Taiwan, while the interactive experience zone offers a 3D theater and 4D motion-powered speedboat ride.
