First-ever fusion of music, beach, and surfing: “Zhenbo Surf Music Festival” debuts tomorrow

The event is initiated by Patrick, the lead singer of indie band Crazy Lazarus, and Tony Fish, a wave expert. It originated within a windbreak forest by the sea in Zhunan. Upholding a simple and authentic approach to music sharing and event philosophy, the festival combines the sounds and power of musicians and waves in the most raw way, creating a pure surfing and music event distinct from commercial formats.

Initiator Patrick mentioned that this year’s event gathers creative bands from all over Taiwan, featuring a diverse range of music genres including rock, blues, jazz, and original compositions. Choosing the scenic Jade Bay in Northern Taiwan as the venue offers the public a great spot to relax and de-stress over the weekend, while also providing more opportunities for emerging bands to showcase their talents and invigorate the atmosphere of musical exchange. Aside from enjoying original music performances, attendees can also take advantage of the uniquely charming beach facilities and activities. The site has the potential to become Northern Taiwan’s new “Kending,” where you can enjoy music, beaches, and ocean views—all without having to drive over 300 kilometers.

Starting at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 10, the event will open with professional demonstrations and explanations of various water activities including surfing and SUP. Visitors will be able to watch skilled surfers from across the region showcasing a variety of water sports such as kite surfing, windsurfing, and surfing with expertise and finesse.
